This painting, entitled  Pretty Bird ( EB #133) is a 5x7 oil on canvas panel.

Love birds.  We used to have a nasty conure named Sal.  He was pretty, but he liked no one.  He was just a miserable bird.  I felt bad constantly, seeing Sal cooped up in his cage.  We finally gave him to another person who loved birds and was willing to put up with Sal's lousy attitude.  I don't know this bird that I painted here.  He looks like a nice bird though.....

Tired Cow( EB 121) is an 8x10 oil painting on masonite.

Painting outside with a plein air artists group,  I happened upon this hefty, old and tired cow.  He didn't budge for a long time; he was content watching me.

I used thick and painterly strokes of oil on large and small brushes for this depiction. I was interested in the beautiful gray colors behind the sunlit orange-brown cow, which was the center of interest.

Pretty precious pooch, this little guy.  He seems to be begging to be loved, despite his funny appearance.
