Title:  Neighbor Artist: Tracy Haines Medium:  acrylic on 6x6x11/4 inch wrapped canvas  Size: 6x6" Unframed :  This piece can hang on the wall from a nail as is, or can stand on a tabletop I see this view from my upstairs window each morning.  The light this day was just lovely. My work varies from impressionistic to occasionally expressionistic.   Expressionism seeks to depict the feeling of the place, pushing colors and values as needed to relate the scene as experienced by the painter at the time. On this occasion, I did not need to push color much, except in the foreground  lawn a bit to make the painting really "sing".

Dog and I traveled this icy,slippery path around Lair of the Bear.  I had a small box of pastels in hand and a few small pastel panels.  By the time I left later that morning, my rear end was snow and mud-covered , clothes were paint-stained and muddy too.  But what a great and fun morning adventure.
This piece was an acrylic done from the pastel study.

Winter Lake is a 5x7 acrylic painting on canvas panel.  Colorado skies are sublime. The sky this day cast a gorgeous array of subtle colors over the partly frozen lake and permeated the surrounding snow-covered land, trees and bushes. Some scenes paint themselves!

Blue Streams is a small 5x7 acrylic on canvas panel study from Lair of the Bear. I am reworking a similar scene as a very large painting.  This study was a re-working of the larger first attempt- changing a few shapes and structures for a better over all design.
